What happens to your body when you start exercising regularly

The What Happens to Your Body When You Start Exercising Regularly video gives a look at exercising from a scientific perspective. It explains what happens mentally from day one through six months, including points where a person may “fall off the wagon” of exercising and start again. The video shows how the body might change visually over time and what physical changes are happening inside the body. It also shows what happens to the body at the molecular level, which helps explain the changes that can be seen on the outside. This video explains how endurance increases overtime as well as oxygen intake, bone health, and muscle development. It does a great job of showing how people can save money on medical services when continuing an exercise regimen for an extended period.

I found this video interesting because I am interested in health management and the information provided helps encourage me to get back on the wagon and exercise again. This is a great video to show in the classroom to demonstrate the importance of exercising and the many benefits of doing so.

  1. I enjoyed your blog and video. I'm inspired to "get back on the wagon" and exercise again. In an attempt to help you improve your blog by applying the rubric provided by Professor Rezaei, I think you could improve the "voice" of your blog. You start off strong with your summary of the video and then your explanation of why you choose it, but then "your voice" is replaced by a more bullet point approach to the presentation of additional content. Perhaps you could add a sentence or two about why you are including the additional information and why you think it is relevant to your blog.

  2. I thoroughly enjoyed your blog and the content that came along with it. I think you did a great job of including outside resources, such as videos, additional websites, and diagrams for your audience to view. One way to improve your blog would be to include the original video because sometimes the hyperlink can get overlooked. Other than that, I think you did great.

  3. Hi Sómone! I really enjoyed your blog post as the content is really interesting. The different multimedia (charts and video) make the content really engaging. I liked how you combined a variety of sources which is really insightful. I think a way you can improve your blog post is perhaps explaining a key point from each of the sources. For example, the picture from U.S. HHS about "How much activity do I need?" could have been supplemented with a brief description or caption. Overall, keep up the great content! Thank you!

  4. Hello!
Thank you so much for posting the insightful post. I appreciate not only the summary of the blog post but then the action items you can do to start adding exercise as a part of your regimen. You have posted a variety of sources and gave insight on how this could be used in the classroom as well. An area of growth could be making the blog a bit more visually appealing which comes with practice and getting more time to play with all the buttons. However, the content is fantastic and can be used by educator and students alike.
    Best,
    Trevor
